Well I'm not such an experienced festival-adventurer, but I had an experience a year ago in Ireland) I've learned that such gig-trips are not planned beforehand. So, the decision to go to the city of Yekaterinburg and see The Horrors live there (on 22.05.2010) came out of the blue. I've never traveled much around our country, so it was the first experience. I'd been to Moscow, yes, but i'd never been to small russian cities before. And it was fantastic, you know)
Yekaterinburg looks like a small European town with its fairylike (for the Russians of course) parks and public gardens, with its streets paved with brick, with Europeans and Americans everywhere, with its friendly-looking chavs (who helped me to get rid off my topographic cretinism). The benches in parks and on bus-stops are sooo comfy that i've even wanted to spend the night out on them. And i have to admit that this is the only city where i could drink beer wandering through the streets without being afraid of our Russian police). The prices for food in restaurants are really reasonable and the prices for Irish/British beers are really wallet-friendly).
The venue is called Teleclub and it lies a bit too far from the city center, practicelly out of the town. It looks like a strange deserted ex-plant building, but when you get into it, you'll see that it's the spitting image of the Arma club (in Moscow).
I can't really remember all the bands we saw there (they were predominantly local). But they were good enough to sustain))
And then The Horrors appeared on the scene. Well, before going there, I thought that their audience should be not older than 15-year-old anorexic teenagers in skinny jeans. But when they released the second shoegaze-post-punk-like album, i've changed my mind) And know i can say that YES, The Horrors make stunning performances, they never turn out potboilers. They really look like devilish creatures, but they turned out to be very friendly and communicative with the fans. So we snapped some pics after the gig.
And of course we've made some videos)

The Chakras - Build Me A Swan (2010) EP
Frankly speaking, i completely forgot about this blog))
I swear i'll run this.
I was surfing through some indie blogs on the weekend and bumped into an amazing band. They're from Dublin and they're called The Chakras.
They play an amazing mixture of Shoegaze, Psychedelic rock, Brit-pop. They remind me of the best lines of JJ72, Feeder (mainly "Feeling A Moment" and "High" and not that pish things they play now), The Crimea (oh i've lost track of them recently, shame shame shame).
I visited Dublin a year ago. And maybe this is the main reason why i took to The Chakras so much.I'd never thought that Ireland was such a country with the gems of musically talented people before visiting it. But if we look deeper into the list of Irish musicians, we'll find out that such bands as My Bloody Valentine, JJ72, Ash, The Divine Comedy they're all from Ireland. They do differ from British bands or Scottish ones, they play fair and acoustically perfect music combined with strong lyrics, which sometimes contain the answers or best solutions of the problems that you may have in your life)
The Chakras sound like a warm wind in the cold autumn day on the sea side.
